NOTE:  Help sessions with me from 2:30-3:15 on Tues., room 162;  room 164 Dr. Hernandez Thursday 2:30-3:00 and Ms. Brown (room 351) before school on Weds from 6:30- 7:20.  Also,  the WELL has tutors for free and the students can sign up to meet with a tutor, often a student from Broughton or from NCSU.

North Carolina Final test for Chemistry (State required) - these are also located on the homepage, look for the next ones to come soon.

May 23, 2014  I plan to be in class tomorrow at this time

Classwork:
  1. Review with review ws on Acids and Bases and Equilibrium
  2. Quest,
  3. most information was covered prior to weds. class which 3A missed, so for 3A we will just cover equilibrium notes before the quest -n so you will be able to answer the few EQ questions on the Quest (you should read or skim over  in Ch. 18 pp.553-559 on Equilibrium expression and calculation of Keq, and do any practice problems, then pp. 562-562 on Shifting the EQ with changes of T, P and concentration). 3A will go over this prior to Quest
    1. Worksheets received in 1a and 2a but not 3A
      1. Eq Calculations
      2. Quest/Test review on Acids, Bases and EQ
  4. Work on Final exam packet

Homework:
  1. Study for Final by working on the review on homepage and or webassign (optional for points -20, I will try to put up another soon)
  2. and other reviews for NC Final on Acids and Bases
  3. Review ideas;
  1. more practice: Answers to book problems Ch. 15 and 16
  2. Start Equilibrium Ch. 18 pp553-561, on Weds. we will cover equilibrium shifts (Le CHatelier's principle )  on p. 562, will not do common ion effect, maybe a little on acid base equilibria on p.569
  3. Calorimetry review practice study problems from Ch. 17, and GIbbs Free Energy, do not read about reaction mechanisms, you will need to know about reaction rates for Final p.538 - not rate laws either
  4. practice problems from Ch. 18 pp.562-567. Chemical Equilibrium
  5. You will need to know Ch. 19 redox reactions (single replacement - , do section review on p. 595 - do not do balancing redox on p. 597, know how electrons move, and oxidation numbers Ch. 19 problems
  6. Review
  7. Entropy: http://youtu.be/MALZTPsHSoo
  8. Using Gibbs Free Energy: http://youtu.be/huKBuShAa1w
  9. Spontaneous Processes: http://youtu.be/hNSD0YDsPsE
